About Terrain

Terrain is family life elevated. Surrounded by natural beauty that has been left natural, Terrain offers the kind of setting you don't just find anywhere, even in Castle Rock. It's not so much a new place to live, it's a new way to live. Simpler. More connected to the land. And yet it's still less than half hour from DTC and Colorado Springs. At the heart of the community is the all new Sage Canyon elementary, part of the Douglas County schools and close enough to walk to. Terrain features an extensive trail systems that leads to open space and connects with regional trails, dog bone park, and Wrangler Park, a fantastic municipal park with tennis courts, a picnic pavilion, playgrounds and a play field.

Terrain is situated in a small valley that follows the McMurdo Gulch creek bed. The topography is rugged and rolling, with rocky outcroppings and stands of native Gambel oak. The big idea behind Terrain is to give people more ways to connect to this picturesque Colorado setting. So about half of Terrain has been set aside for parks, trails, and nature.

Terrain features The Swim Club which is Terrain's residents-only swimming pool that opened summer 2013. The pool, and it's whimsical curly-cue wading area, is surrounded by a large deck area. And with its indoor gathering space, The Swim Club is quickly becoming Birthday Pary Central for the whole community.

Between its landscape and its list of community features, Terrain is filled with pleasant surprises! So come tour our model home. Hit the trails. Play in the park. Oh, and bring the family.
